Honey Nut French Toast
I see your boring breakfast and I raise you this alternative. Eggy, cinnamon-soaked brioche with a cheeky honey-nut crunch coat.
Serves 2
Ingredients
50g honey-nut flake cereal
2 eggs, lightly beaten
125ml milk
½ tsp cinnamon
4 brioche slices
2 tbsp salted butter
To serve
2 tbsp maple syrup
1. Measure the cereal into a bowl and lightly crush with a rolling pin.
2. Combine the eggs, milk and cinnamon in a separate wide, shallow bowl.
3. Dip the slices of brioche into the egg mixture and turn them to coat, then roll them in the crushed cereal.
4. Melt the butter in a large frying pan over a medium heat and gently fry the brioche slices for 3-5 min on each side until golden and crisp. Serve with maple syrup.
